Since the day that I arrived at Chico State I had heard a lot about the Thursday Night Farmers Market that happens once a week for about 5 months. At first it did not really interest me, but within a week it caught my attention. I was not quite sure about what it really was which is what made me want to go and explore. The day that I went I brought my closest of my friends with me,her name is Neetha Once I got to the market there were so many things that I did not know where to go or look first.

Being here reminded me of being at a flee market. Although it had some alike features as a flee market I did notice a huge difference. The type of people that are at the market do give a representation to me about Chico, because if you look around you find yourself at a place where there is little people you can identify with. There is not much of a diversity here unlike if you go to a flee market you will see many people of skin color with lots of diversity. By seeing this it did discourage me from wanting to be at the market due to the fact that I am a minority myself but I tried my best to push that aside and give it a chance. The market offers a large amount of farm- fresh produce, food from food trucks, live entertainment, stands selling different things such as clothing plants and much more. While walking around I noticed some cute and small cactus's. There were many different ones with each one being its own and unique. I also noticed a lot of other stands selling beautiful flowers. I love flowers so of course these attractions caught my attention.

Along with selling plants there were lots of stands selling fresh fruit. I took a bite of a strawberry and I was able to see how ripe it was along with tasting its sweetness which was very delicious. As I walked around I saw a henna tattoo stand which of course led me to get one along with my friend Neetha. I love hennas and their designs which is why this stand was my favorite at the market. All together the market was a nice place to go to with friends and have a good time but I do not see myself going there often, I feel out of place while being there but that is just me. I do not want to discourage anybody from going here I just simply am giving my opinion based off of my experience of going there myself. Exploring new places at Chico just like this one is an important thing to do for me as a new student at Chico State so that I can meet new people and find who I want to surround myself with along with going to new places so that along the way of my college journey I can find my sense of place.
